Christmas Toys Fundraiser
It has been over a year since Mom left our Family and we miss her very dearly especially at the Holidays. Her annual Christmas celebration is now a heavenly party with all of her friends and family we have lost over the years. Of course, Mom would already be out shopping for lists of toys for all the children. Help us keep that tradition alive by donating in her honor so that pediatric cancer patients have toys from Dolores this Christmas.
Dolores had a high school education, but a PhD in loving and caring for children especially her 14 grandchildren & great grandchildren. When you walked into her home, especially during the Christmas season, there was gravy on the stove, love in the air, and everyone was welcome. The culmination of her life is a litany of sacrificing for her children and bringing joy to everyone in her life. Most importantly, Children loved Dolores and once they entered her home they never wanted to leave, sometimes to the chagrin of their parents. Dolores’s reputation as “The Best Italian Food in Philly,” was undisputed to all that had the pleasure of eating her numerous Italian delicacies.
But make no mistake Christmas was always about the children. Gift giving was her language of love. Dolores worked hard for her family, pinched pennies, budgeted and started her Christmas shopping early to make certain that every child that walked into her house had a gift, which were stacked floor to ceiling surrounding the Christmas Tree. Through the years she welcomed family friends, in-laws and friends of her children, including many friends of friends who did not know the love of a family until she welcomed them into hers. In honor of the love and acceptance she provided to every person to walk through her door, we, along with Max Cure, are honored and privileged to carry on this legacy and tradition of giving to children.
