September 11, 2020Micah is a five-year-old ball of energy! He is only in preschool/kindergarten and is already more tech-savvy than most; he loves to play Minecraft online. He also loves to play with anything Avengers and Star Wars related and you can find him jumping around on the trampoline!
Micah comes from a big family; he is one of 7 kids! Micah’s older siblings are Jeffery, who is 15, Holland, who is 13, Skylar, who is 10, and Asher, who is 7. Micah’s younger siblings include River, who is 3, and Haven, who is just 9 months old!
On January 6th of 2020, Micah and his family’s lives were changed forever. A 9cm tumor was found during his abdominal ultrasound, and it was discovered that Micah has an extremely rare cancer called Adrenocortical carcinoma. To highlight just how rare his diagnosis is, this cancer has a one in a million diagnosis rate.
Micah is currently being treated at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida for his Adrenocortical carcinoma. Micah is expected to undergo one week of chemotherapy in the hospital followed by two weeks of taking four doses of chemotherapy pills a day.
Micah is a tough little fighter but he does admit that he is sad because he “misses his siblings and father” after being in the hospital for five weeks. His family is asking for any kind of financial assistance during this extremely emotionally demanding time. Micah’s mother is currently taking an unpaid leave of absence from work to care for and support Micah, and with 6 other children to care for, any form of donation would be greatly appreciated!
